Learn How To Surf

Ellie Fujimoto

My name is Ellie Fujimoto, I am sophomore at University of Hawaii at Manoa. In high school i swam and played water polo for 4 years.  I absolutely love being in the water and being active.  My previous jobs were all ocean lifeguard related, and as an instructor for the junior lifeguard program.  I feel San Diego School School provides a perfect atmosphere where I can combine both surfing and instruction together.  Surfing is a passion, I enjoy it very much and I try to go out whenever I can.  I remember when I was little I went to summer surf camps and absolutely loved it, so i hope I can create a good atmosphere as well.  As a kid, I surfed as much as I could, however I started swimming competitions which took majority of my time.  I started to get back into it my freshman year(end of 8th grade) of high school when I was able to balance both activities.  I also surf back in Hawaii as well and try to balance my grades as well as enough surf time.  I personally love longboarding during the summer in california, but I also shortboard depending on the surf.  I am excited to work in this great environment and I have heard alot of good things about San Diego Surfing School, so I hope I can provide alot to this team.
