Nightmare On Law Street

Now is the time of year to celebrate the spooky season! The team at San Diego Surf School is stoked about Halloween and we could not be more excited for this week. If you’re looking for fun ways to celebrate the holiday, we’ve come up with a list of spooky things to do in Pacific Beach that is great for all ages. You can plan a week full of Halloween festivities and you might even bump into some of our surf instructors celebrating too!

TOURMALINE SURF CONTEST

What better way to enjoy Halloween in San Diego than the Tourmaline Halloween Surf Competition? Combine a costume contest with a surf contest and this is what you get. At 8AM on October 31st head down to North PB for the competition. If you’re a surfer, paddle out in costume to catch the perfect wave. If you don’t know how to surf or don’t feel like paddling out in the morning, you can just sit in the sand and enjoy watching kooks catching waves decked out in amazing costumes. The winner will be determined by the best costume and best wave.

SAN DIEGO SURF SCHOOL HALLOWEEN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

San Diego Surf School’s After School Program will be celebrating Halloween all week long. While we don’t want to give away all of the spooky surprises we have in store, we have big plans in the works that include face painting with zinc sunscreen (because sun protection is key), Halloween decorations and a costume contest. The After School Program starts at 3:30PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and our Halloween edition starts today, October 26th, and will continue throughout the week.

BACKYARD MOVIES

Backyard Kitchen and Tap is hosting Halloween movies under the stars on Thursday nights at 8:00PM. Just remember that this is a bar so don’t forget to bring your ID! This Thursday, October 29th, they will be showing Beetlejuice so grab your friends and a sweatshirt (because it’s finally cooling down) and prepare for the 31st by watching this Halloween classic.

BELMONT PARK HARVEST WALK

If you’re looking to go somewhere that caters to both kids and adults, Belmont Park has something for everyone. The Harvest Walk will be open from 11AM to 6PM every Saturday in October and even the first weekend in November so stop by and experience the fall festivities while they last. This is an open air market with local vendors and craft beer that has different events every day of the week. Kids can also walk around the park in their costumes and trick or treat at different shops. For more information on the daily schedule check out Belmont Park’s Harvest Festival website to plan a fall family outing.

PB PUMPKIN PATCH

One thing’s for sure, you can’t celebrate Halloween without pumpkins! Luckily the Garnet Pumpkin Patch is open and ready for you to stop by and pick out your favorite gourd. This is conveniently located in the center of PB so you can stop by on your way to or from another local Halloween event. Choose from a large selection of pumpkins, pick up your carving accessories and head over to the carving and painting area. The pumpkin patch is open from 10AM to 10PM from Monday through Friday and 8AM to 10PM on Saturdays and Sundays. This gives you ample amount of time to make the perfect jack o’lantern before Halloween!

Hopefully you’ve found some Halloween activities that you can attend or if you have plenty of free time, why not enjoy everything that PB has to offer? With just a few days left till Halloween, don’t delay in participating in these fun fall activities around town. Whether you’re looking to celebrate with friends or family, Pacific Beach has everything you need to have the perfect Halloween.
