All san diego surf lessons and surf camps are held in North Pacific Beach at 4850 Cass st, San Diego, California 92109 (858) 205-7683 or Ocean Beach at the end of Newport St. (Orange Tent at the Beach). All the details will be included in your confirmation email.
Surfers meet each day at the San Diego Surf School surf Loading Zone in Pacific Beach Location at the end Law Street (Orange Tent at the Beach) or Ocean Beach Location at the end of Newport St. (Orange Tent at the Beach) 20 minutes before the surf camp starts.
Swimming suit, sunscreen, towel, t-shirt, sweatshirt and sweatpants when it is overcast or cloudy, lunch or a snack, hat and sunglasses are optional. On Fridays we offer pizza.
Be in the area 20 minutes before our surf instructions begin to insure a parking spot and sign your surf waiver (release form).
There is plenty of public parking around the San Diego: Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach area.
Pacific Beach surf and Ocean Beach locations are equipped with public restrooms and showers.
San Diego Surf School – Policies & Guidelines
*Prior to Arrival*
Check-In: Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled lesson for check-in and gear pickup.
What to Bring: Bathing suit or board shorts are required. We recommend bringing a towel, sunscreen, and water.

Pacific Beach: 4850 Cass St, San Diego, CA 92109
Ocean Beach: 5022 Santa Monica Ave, San Diego, CA 92107
Meeting Point: After check-in at the office, meet your instructor at the 10×10 white tent on the beach.
*Surf Lessons & Rentals – Cancellation Policy*
72+ hours prior to lesson: Full refund, reschedule, or store credit available.
72–24 hours prior to lesson: Cancellations are non-refundable. Reschedules or store credit available with a $25 reprocessing fee.
24 hours or less prior to lesson: Cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable. Reschedules are not permitted.
Note: Once a lesson has been rescheduled, it is non-refundable regardless of future cancellations.
*Surf Camp & Adult Surf Retreat – Cancellation Policy*
Upon booking: A non-refundable deposit of $100 per session is required.
*Full day camps are 2 sessions in one- $200 non-refundable deposit*
7+ days prior to camp start date: Eligible for reschedule, store credit, or refund minus the $100 deposit .
Within 7 days of camp start date through camp start date: Cancellations are non-refundable and reschedules are not permitted.
Photos & T-Shirts: Available only for 5-Day Camps. Campers must attend the full week to receive them. Photos are typically taken between Tuesday–Thursday, depending on photographer availability.
*Large Group Surf Lessons (10+ Participants) – Cancellation Policy*
Upon booking: A 50% non-refundable deposit (or full payment) is required. Full balance is due 30 days before the lesson date. Reservations made within 30 days require full payment.
30+ days prior to lesson date: Eligible for reschedule, store credit, or 50% refund.
Within 30 days of lesson date through lesson date: Cancellations are non-refundable and reschedules are not permitted.
*Gratuities*
Tips are appreciated for instructors who provide exceptional service.
If you would like to sign up by phone, call (858) 205-7683. If you are under 18 you must have your legal guardian register you and fill out the release form. It’s that simple!
You may also drop off a payment of cash, check, or credit at our office. Checks should be made out to San Diego Surf School and dropped off, or mailed to: San Diego Surf School, 4850 Cass st, San Diego, CA 92109.
* For our campers only, we provide daily snacks and refreshments, pizza Friday with a gift from our sponsors, a t-shirt, and a keepsake surf photograph to capture your experience…
** All campers will receive a San Diego Surf School, personal and a group pictures, surf magazine, surf stickers and a surf t-shirt at the end of each surf camp session.
